University of Alberta – Flag Poles
Categories: Artistic Use of Masonry
Address: University of Alberta Campus – 89 Ave NW
Year: Edmonton
Date Completed: September 25, 2023
The University of Alberta Flag Pole was completed just East of the main entrance for the Dentistry Building located on 89 Avenue. This unique project was constructed of red brick and sandstone coping stones. The coping stones were specifically designed to match identically with previous monument coping stones around the University of Alberta. The coping stones were individually fabricated to match the radius of the structure and geometry of the existing coping stones around campus. Each stone was custom made for its unique spot on the radius wall. The coping stones were cut around each flag pole as required.
