The full bed masonry incorporated on this extensive renovation project was intended to capture the traditional Calgary classic sandstone and brick home. The homeowners wanted the home to have a 100 year old feel. Hand carved Montana sandstone was used with flush cut mortar joints, tumbled red brick laid in American bond with flush cut mortar joints combined with sandstone sills, headers, wall caps, hearths, mantles and chimney caps all custom cut rock face. As you approach the front of the home, up the sandstone and brick stairs, you enter through a barrel arch onto a brick paver patio. The back patio is similar to the front along with the sandstone designed outdoor kitchen. The rear sidewalk and lower patios are a black slate paver. The home boasts 3 wood burning masonry fireplaces along with many brick feature walls throughout.
