Private Residence (2) – Lethbridge, Alberta

This home boasts a European traditional design with craftsmen roots built in an established inner city neighbourhood in Lethbridge. The masonry used on this project is a combination of full bed stone and brick. The stone selection was key to anchoring the home. The design team chose Eramosa limestone quarried in Ontario with quarries as far south as Wisconsin. It is a very unique stone with a fluri pattern and deep veining and was installed in a random hand carved split ashler. Additional masonry materials used were Indiana limestone custom cut rock face sills, wall caps, coping stones, banding, hearths and mantels. Brick was also used to break up and top both chimneys. Two major masonry features in this home are the two interior fireplaces. Both are the center focal points of each living space. The home with it’s quality and traditional character will be a landmark in Lethbridge for years to come.
