Legislature Building Stone Cladding and Window Restoration

This project involved the restoration of over 22,230 sandstone interventions. The interventions consisted of complete Unit Replacement, Dutchman, Indent, Plastic, Redress/Retool, Surface grout, Injection grout and Stitch/pin repairs along with total joint re-pointing. Scorpio also completed installation of membrane and metal flashing for better water management.

The main North Stair was deconstructed to allow for the installation of a new concrete support system, followed by the reinstallation of granite treads and landings. 2,457 cut tickets were created by the Scorpio Stone shop to manufacture unique profiles for dutchman repairs, balusters, and full unit replacements on Scorpio’s two CNC machines, Python Block Saw -100” blade and stone lathe.
