Masonry was used a feature on this project to enhance the architectural surrounding of the nearby University of Calgary campus which also features the use of large amounts of masonry on its buildings. The design feature of jumbo white bricks on the higher elevations contrasted in both size and color to the smaller standard red bricks used on the bottom of the building. This was a brilliant way to separate the lower level retail area from the upper level living area of the building. This building is a wonderful combination of modern elegance and classic masonry style with a modern twist.
