The MacLaren
Categories: Multi Family Residential
Address: 10141-124 Street
Year: Edmonton
Date Completed: January 1, 2019
This project initially involved the demolition and salvage of the brick veneer and limestone elements façade from the original 3-storey MacLaren Building. Once demolished, a new 27-storey high rise residential tower was constructed with 4 levels of underground parking and commercial space to the main floor level. The project involved CMU work throughout and rebuilding the façade to the North & West elevations and North face of the residential tower access courtyard South face to match the original deconstructed building façade (façadism), which included incorporating the original ghost signs.
The tower portion of the project also included brick veneer up to the 27th floor level to some extent on all 4 elevations. For the stone elements, some pieces needed to be replaced with new which were replicated and manufactured from new limestone by Scorpio Stone.
