The original Roxy theatre was built in 1938 and was destroyed by fire in 2015. The new structure was initially designed with a Fiber Cement Cladding system. Scorpio Masonry provided an alternate which utilized thin brick veneer, which was accepted. The reconstruction consisted of the installation of interior thin brick feature walls and exterior walls including a large radius thin brick veneer façade using a soldier bond. The exterior wall veneer assembly was constructed with AVB membrane, girt back-up system c/w thermos isolation clips, air space, plywood, one hundred mil insulation, black paper/steel mesh and a scratch coat base using a polymer modified mortar for the 13mm brick slices.
